Reds late show get em' tops
Golden boy Torres struck in injury time to steal 3-2 win over Pompey. The home team twice lead through Nugent & Hreidarsson but the Reds levelled each time from Aurelio & Kuyt before the late clincher by Torres.
This keeps the Reds still in the hunt for their 1st league title in 20 years.
Yesterdays games also see a flurry of debuts. Shay Given was the hero for the blue half of Manchester as they clinched it 1-0 against Boro. Goals scored by Bellamy.
Another debutant, Brazilian Jo on loan from the Citizens scored twice for the Tofees as they won 3-0 against Bolton. Other scorer was Arteta.
Peter Lovenkrands also scored on his debut for the Magpies in a 3-2 win over Albions.
However, Ricky Quaresma didnt make a winning start with the Blues as they were held by relegation threatened Hull. Capt Terry missed a sitter 2 yards from the goal early in the game.
Other results Villa won at Blackburn 2-0 (Milner,Agbonlahor), Sunderland won at home 2-0 (Jones,Healy) over Stoke with Etherington off . Fulham & Wigan shared the honors at The JJB.
