Drogba fires the Blues to the summit

African Player of The Year, Didier Drogba scored twice to power Chelsea to the top of the Premier League at least for 24 hours before the champions, United take on Fulham at Old Trafford.

West Ham arrived at Stamford Bridge knowing that a win will help them tremendously in their relegation battle. They started brightly enough when new signing blasted over an easy chance after good work by Mido. They soon rued that miss when Chelsea took the lead with an Alex header after a peach of a cross by French international, Malouda.

But the Hammers equalised through a half volley from Blues old boy, Scotty Parker. The scored remain the same until half time.

The Blues started off slowly in the second half before Drogba scored his first goal. Malouda then grabbed one goal for himself to end the scoring.

Overall, it was a good warm up before Chelsea welcome the return of their former boss, Mourinho who will be visiting them for the Champions League clash this Tuesday.
